F.A.Q.

Q: How many visits do I need?

A: These are our recommendations for the minimum number of visits you should schedule for your pets. These are the MINIMUM number of visits you should have to keep your pets happy, healthy, and safe. Of course, we are happy to visit them more frequently. No one ever gets lonely or sick from extra love and attention!

Do you have a pet that takes medication? No problem. We are very experienced in giving pills, injections, and fluids. Pet’s taking time sensitive medications get top priority on our schedule. And we are one of the few pet sitters in Colorado Springs that does not charge extra for this service!

Whether your critter is on medications or not, we recommend keeping them on their regular schedule as much as possible. Sticking to their routine will make things less stressful for them.

Dogs 1 Cat 2 or More Cats
Birds, Rodents, Fish
At least 3 visits per day*
At least 1 visit per day At least 1 visit every other day At least 1 visit per day

Recommendations are based are healthy, well-adjusted (do not experience separation anxiety) pets. We do offer overnight stays for critters with special needs or if you just want to pamper your family. Many customers just feel more comfortable having someone in their home overnight.

*Recommendations for dogs are based on the assumption that they are relying solely on PlayTime Pet Sitters to go potty (they don’t have a doggie door or use potty pads). When that is the case, we require that dogs get at least 3 visits per day. We don’t ask anyone to hold his or her potty any longer than that. Asking a dog to hold their urine 12 hours at a time can be painful and cause serious health issues.

Q: Why do I need to register my pets online?

A: Registering as a new client with PlayTime Pet Sitters’ requires creating a file for your furry family. It’s takes a little time, but we want to be as thorough as possible. The more information we have, the better we will be able to care for your family. Because it does take a little while to complete, we would like to thank you for ANSWERING EVERY SINGLE QUESTION with $5 OFF your first pet sitting visit.

One of the handy things about having an online file is that you don’t have to take the time to write up notes every time you leave town, which is especially nice if you have an emergency and have to leave town suddenly. You can also go back in to your file at anytime to update information.

Also, if your primary care giver is in an accident or has an emergency, all of your information will be accessible be your backup caregiver (this is also why we ask for a 2nd key).

Another benefit of having an online file is that you can go online and schedule your own visits, just the way you want them, when you want them any time you like. Each time you schedule a visit you will be asked 3 additional questions:

a) When are you leaving?

This will help us evenly space the visits that day.

b) When will you be arriving home?

This will help us evenly space the visits that day.

c) Where can you be reached incase of emergency?

Cell phones are great, but batteries die, people forget they have turned them off, they get lost or stolen, and reception can be poor. We NEED another way to get a hold of you.

PLEASE remember to answer these questions too. It’s for the safety and health of your loved ones.
